Malton Young Rider Wins Tottie Sponsorship

Young rider, Amy Milburn, was over the moon when she found out she was the lucky winner of a competition in Pony Magazine to win £1,000 worth of prizes from equestrian clothing company Tottie.

Amy (12), is based at Broughton near Malton, and when not busy at school is kept to a hectic schedule riding and competing her ponies.

The £1,000 prize included £500 cash to go towards training and competing, a selection of clothing from Tottie and Masta rugs for her ponies.

Said Amy: “When I opened the letter with the good news about winning I couldn’t wait to tell my mum and dad.”

Amy has a few ponies that she rides but her main pony that she has high hopes for is William.

The 13hh roan is a New Forest gelding and William loves to do anything and everything with Amy.

Said Amy: “William and I love to go to the Middleton Pony Club and our local Riding Club to compete in the show jumping and cross country classes.

“I really like working hunter pony competitions and would like to improve in those sort of classes.

“I have been riding William now for two years and he is now nine-years-old. At this time of year I only get chance to ride at the weekend as it’s so dark when I get back from school.

“The sponsorship money will go towards the costs of competing and travelling to shows.

“I love all my Tottie wear, my favourite being my cosy gilet, and William loves his new Masta rug – they’re all great!”
